The tour will begin in the picturesque village of Sarangkot Pandeli where you will get to meet small local Arabica coffee farmers and learn about the stages of organic coffee farming and processing methods. You will have the opportunity to learn more about our non-profit organization Sharing Seeds The tour will give you greater insight into the important environmental, economic, and social benefits of Arabica coffee farming. The day will conclude with a delicious lunch served in the scenic outdoors providing a glimpse into Nepal’s true hidden beauties
Your adventure begins in Pokhara, where your guide will meet you at Lakeside. You will embark on a hike along the shore of Phewa Lake, passing by fisherman, rice terraces, paragliders, and eventually making your way up to the Pandeli Village through a community forest. So don’t forget to wear good walking shoes!
Upon arriving in the village, you will be welcomed by local coffee farmers. You will explore the village and surrounding coffee farms. We will discuss the various coffee farming and beekeeping initiatives and projects that Sharing Seeds offers. We will take you to one of our facilities where local women produce home textiles and handicrafts.
Back at the coffee farm, you will learn about the methods and challenges of producing high-quality coffee cherries. Depending on the season, you may even get to see the coffee flowers blooming!
We will guide you to the local coffee processing center in the Khadkathar village of Sarangkot where you will get to see the pulping and hand sorting process of coffee parchment.
After a delicious organic lunch served on the coffee farm, your guide will take you back to Pokhara via car. You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Annapurna Mountain range on the way! And of course, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of freshly brewed local coffee.
